I was accepted to Florida Atlantic University's English graduate program! I'm sincerely pumped about this. After getting turned down by my two top choices -- Illinois and Indiana -- and then receiving the other rejection letters in the mail, I was getting kinda worried. There was a slight possibility that things weren't gonna go as planned for me. It was a burden that was weighing heavy on me, like Robert "Tractor" Traylor sitting on my shoulders. But all of those concerns have been alleviated because I'm in. I'm officially a grad student. I'm so happy about that. There's no other place I'd rather be than in school. In the Fall, I'll be taking two courses and teaching two courses. I still can't get over the idea of having my own classroom full of students that I'll be responsible for. I'm excited. And check it out, as a part of the package deal they're offering me, FAU's gonna cover 80% of my tuition and they're giving me a yearly $12,000 stipend. I'm still waiting to hear back from Purdue and the University of Florida. So if they accept me, I'll have a decision to make. But whatever happens, now I know that I'll be working towards my Master's degree
somewhere.
And as if things could get any better, the newest issue of SLAM magazine also came in the mail; it has Dwight Howard on the cover doing a Superman pose. The post office did me right today.
